Media News: News Corp Anticipates Layoffs

In the US and the UK, Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, which owns Dow Jones and the Wall Street Journal and countless media properties, is expecting job cuts in NY and London as drastic declines in print advertising take their toll on the company’s bottom line.

From the FT: “News International, whose papers include The Times, Sunday Times and The Sun, is in the final stages of an efficiency review conducted by the Boston Consulting Group and could cut up to 50 jobs, or some 2.5 per cent of its staff, although some new posts may be formed.”
