The Position

Criterion Global is a fast-expanding international media planning and buying agency currently seeking an Associate Strategist:

Candidates should have a prerequisite understanding of the fundamentals of paid media. This role is designed with a 18 month outlook, mentoring the Associate Strategist through six, quarterly learning periods to cover:

  1. Scaling for Reach / Campaign Management
  2. Quantitative Tools + Tech
  3. Innovation + New Platforms
  4. Client Innovation + Leadership
  5. Media Strategy Thought Leadership
  6. Consulting Frameworks

This full time position is based in the NYC, with travel as needed to Miami/Singapore offices, or client sites.

What We’re Looking For:

Skills / Experience

  • 1-2 years in paid media campaign management / media buying investment
    • Experience in project management (strategy, complex planning, and leading teams).
    • Familiarity with common ad platforms (certifications ideal).
  • Effective communication skills (in-person, email, and phone).
  • Quantitative skills and a love of data, with a deliberate organizational process.
  • International curiosity. Globally-minded. Willing to travel.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities/tasks independently, on time and accurately.

Bonus Qualification: Fluency (Written + Spoken) in a non-English language.

Responsibilities

Associate Strategist Duties are divided across 4 core areas:

  1. Support, and eventual management of client campaigns.
  2. Quantitative data/reporting analyses and Executive Summary deliveries.
  3. Quality Assurance Task Management: Ex. Assembling creative specs for partners, Ad Tech QA processes, agency brainstorms, research and ad hoc projects.
  4. Learning + Thought Leadership: Professional representation of agency both internally and externally.

Skills/Capabilities

  • Analyse: Candidates must be able to draw inferences and conclusions from data to make sound client recommendations.
  • Identify: Proactively identify strategic opportunities and solutions for clients.
  • Communicate: Justify decisions based on consumer data, trends, and findings to demonstrate value.
  • Manage: Planning and execution of client media programs, including media negotiations across channels.
  • Tech Skills: Excel (advanced), Powerpoint, Keynote, AdWords/DSP/ social media platforms (certifications preferred), email, plus ability and interest to learn new technology!
