Especialista en Medios Pagados / Media Buyer (Mexico)

About Criterion Global

Criterion Global is a rare independent international media strategy and buying agency, purpose-built for brands navigating the new global economy. We help companies expand into new markets with speed, rigor, and local intelligence—without the constraints of holding-company networks.

Our clients work with us because we combine senior-level thinking, agile global coverage, and hands-on execution across digital, TV, CTV, OOH, and sponsorship-led media. We are intentionally low-profile, but widely regarded by our clients as a hidden advantage when entering or scaling in complex international markets.

This Role

The Especialista en Medios Pagados / Media Buyer will lead paid media execution focused on the Mexican market, supporting both local advertisers and international brands entering Mexico for the first time. This role requires strong platform expertise, market fluency, and the ability to operate confidently in both Spanish and English.

  • Support traditional media execution where relevant (radio, OOH, print, TV coordination)
  • Localize global strategies for the Mexican media landscape and audience behavior
  • Monitor performance, budgets, pacing, and campaign optimization
  • Prepare clear, accurate reporting for both local and international stakeholders
  • Collaborate with global strategy, analytics, and client leadership teams
  • Ensure compliance with platform policies, local regulations, and best practices
  • Support local and inbound international advertisers entering and expanding their share of voice in Mexico

  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accountability
  • Ability to work independently in a contract-based, distributed team environment
  • Comfortable collaborating across time zones with international teams

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistently strong campaign performance and budget discipline
  • Effective localization of global media strategies for Mexico
  • Clear, professional communication with international clients and teams
  • Trusted execution partner for both local and inbound advertisers
  • Long-term contribution to Criterion Global’s growth in North and Latin America

What We Offer

  • Ongoing contract engagement with stable, long-term opportunity
  • Competitive, market-aligned compensation
  • Exposure to international brands and global expansion mandates
  • Direct collaboration with senior agency leadership
  • Flexible working structure with autonomy and accountability
  • Opportunity to grow within a respected independent global agency

Compensation, Payment & Contractor Status

To support an efficient and transparent review process, applicants are asked to briefly describe their preferred compensation structure (e.g., hourly, daily, project-based, or retainer) and their proposed rate or fee range, including currency. All engagements are offered on an independent contractor basis only and do not create an employment, partnership, or agency relationship. Compensation information is requested for planning and evaluation purposes and is non-binding; final terms will be subject to mutual agreement, defined scope, availability, jurisdictional and tax requirements. Where applicable, payments to international contractors may be made in the agreed local currency or USD, with any foreign exchange conversion handled at prevailing market rates through the Company’s designated payment provider.
