This Role: Account Director
This role of account director is responsible for client profitability, leadership across client/industry verticals, internal innovation, and fostering a work environment that encourages proactive thinking and action by Criterion Global team members on behalf of clients. Responsibilities & time distribution as follows:
- 50% - Account Leadership / Client Relations.
- 20% - Strategic Innovation (Identifying Opportunities in Accounts, Servicing/Tools, and Competitive Difference).
- 20% - Agency Operations + Development (Opportunities to document processes, improve processes internally)
- 10% - Agency Growth (Pitching, Strategy, Thought Leadership)

Key Responsibilities
IDENTIFY: Proactively identify strategic opportunities and solutions for clients and the agency at large, including the timely development and execution of plans, campaigns, points of view, research, and all client projects to grow revenue and profit.
COMMUNICATE: Articulate and justify decisions based on consumer behavior data, micro- and macro- trends, and apply findings to demonstrate value to clients. Proactively communicate with subordinates on opportunities for improvement and team development in support of client needs.
ANALYSE: Candidate must be able to draw inferences and conclusions from data to make sound, supported client optimization recommendations on a campaign level. Must use data to “tell a story” in support of strategy for prospective and existing clients as well as to help adapt, grow and expand agency capabilities and client base.
MANAGE:
- Planning and execution of client media programs, including negotiations for the purchase of media across a variety of channels, as well as managing the intricacies and nuances of those activations.
- Champion internal systems for higher productivity and performance from subordinates and account teams. Provides leadership/motivation and conveys the vision and values of the Agency to the assigned staff.
- Defining project scopes, writing proposals for incremental opportunities, and supports Account Managers in monitoring and enforcing project risk and constraints (schedule / scope / resources).
Key Qualifications
- 10+ years in media buying leadership.
- Demonstrable Client Leadership + Agency Leadership + Strategic Thinking.
- Ability to manage multiple business initiatives in an entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to grow and develop existing client accounts.
- Diversity of media expertise, emphasizing digital, but also broadcast, print, OOH, and other strategic channels to craft 360* programs in support of client needs.
- Fluency in traditional + digital media, including: ad tech, search, Google Product Ads, affiliate, social (FB), DCM, DV360 or other Programmatic Platforms.
- GTM + General knowledge of HTML and JavaScript + GSuite.
- Strategic fundamentals of Reporting Tools (ex. Adobe Analytics / Omniture) and/or charting/dashboard platforms.
- BONUS: Amazon Ads, business fluency in a non-English language.

Base pay of $80,000 -$95,000 USD per year offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including bonus or other awards, in addition to healthcare, educational, and/or other benefits, which may also be subject to eligibility criteria, such as for 401(K) participation. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
